As an early career journalist with a background in a digital media I have gained interest in several areas of the industry such as photography, radio and podcast, videography, layout editing, media management and of course, journalistic writing. I began my writing career in a co-op at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus’ student magazine, The Underground, in 2017. Since then I have worked with Wilfrid Laurier University’s Student Publications, as Editor-in-Chief of their Brantford campus paper, The Sputnik, and will be moving into the role of President & Publisher this year. I’ve also worked as a brand photographer, an assistant on a podcast, One Market, and have had the opportunity to host my own radio show, The Weekly Orbit, through Radio Laurier.
Recently, my focus has shifted to centre solutions journalism in the topics of labour, education and housing which I am deeply passionate about. I’m not afraid to shy away from social justice and believe in affordable access to housing, education and healthcare. I’m always seeking opportunities to learn more about and do these topics justice in my coverage, so please do not hesitate to reach out with your ideas!
